Today I learned that the Lake District only actually has one lake. The rest of them are meres or tarns, which is why Windermere is called Windermere. We were treated to a 45 minutes boat trip around Windermere and then hopped back on the bus to the next village called Grasmere. This was full of tiny spring baby lambs. Look how cute they are! Grasmere was also home to the poet William Wordsworth and also home to the world's best gingerbread. It did smell incredible. It's hard to believe that this was less than a two hour drive from Manchester. Honestly, felt like we were in a fairy tale. If you're in Manchester, this tour is an absolute must.
