Today I learned more about Irish landscapes. Did you know the Burren consists only of limestone, formed millions of years ago and is now used as a form of farming? The Cliffs of Moher, which are 702ft at their highest point, tower over the rugged west coast. Our tour guide had many stories about portal tombs, also known as Poulnabrone tombs. Our tour guide also informed us about the O'Brien's Tower, which is located at the top of the cliffs and was used by tourists as a teahouse. The history and uniqueness of the landscapes are absolutely captivating. If you are a history and nature lover, this place is a must visit. Save it for your next trip.
